28.12.10 Cicero and Dirk are victorious in Mechelen |
Too
good to be true, that is the feeling we had when our Cicero Z van Paemel
entered the Mechelse Nekkerhal binnenkwam as winner. This
feeling was stronger because of the fact that Cicero is our
own breeding product and he was victorious on Belgian soil.
Cicero started together with Dirk Demeersman in the Zangersheide Sires
of The World. In the 1m45 high class 9 combinations of the 42
stayed clear. Cicero and Dirk were the first clear, so they
were the first to start in the jump-off, which was heigtened.
A super jumping Cicero did not touch a fence and this in a
quick time, that only was improved by Gregory Wathelet, but
he had a fault. That way Dirk earned a first place with
Cicero and another third place with Baron Cento Heldenlaan.

23.12.10 Don Camillo for the third time |
After
his victory in the 1m35 class in San Giovanni and his
victory in the seven year old horses class in Manerbio Don Camillo van Paemel
gained a third victory. The son of
Darco out of our breeding mare Quechua (Remondo x Randel Z) was
last week the quickest of the 65 combinations in the 1m35
class on Saturday in the two star CSI of Roosendaal. The
stallion in property of Starhorses is doing it very well the
last time under his rider Thiago Ribas Da Costa.
His big brother Barbarossa
van Paemel was present at the five star competition of La Coruña. On
the first day he got one fault in the 1m50 class with Aldrick Cheronnet,
but thanks to a quick time they were placed 9th.

13.12.10 Cicero in six bars |
The prestigious competition at Geneva was more a preparation
for our Cicero Z van
Paemel for Jumping Mechelen, that is starting within 2 weeks.
Thursday evening Dirk Demeersman chose to start Cicero in the
six bars competition. 16 combinations took part in the
competition, in which most of them got over a height of 1m70.
Half of the combinations got over a height of 1m85, among
them Cicero, who easily jumped over it. On a jump of 1m95
they got a fault and the duo ended up on an ex aequo third
place.
Barbarossa
van Paemel was present at the CSI Porto. Also on thursday he
started together with the Frenchman Aldrick Cheronnet in the
main competition of the day. They stayed clear over the both 1m45
rounds and gained a 5th place, behind Wathelet.

05.12.10 Cicero 10th in
Championat Salzburg |
On
this moment Dirk Demeersman is together with our Cicero Z van
Paemel in Austria, where the four star CSI of Salzburg is
held. Thursday the combination started for the first time in a
1m50 class against the clock. Dirk immediately made a good
speed and with some short turns they had a quick time, but one
fault kept them out of the top ten.
Yesterday Cicero did not come close to the wood in the first
course of the Championat and qualified him for the jump-off of
this 1m55 class. In a jump-off with eighteen Dirk and Cicero
made a good tempo from the beginning and unfortunately they
collected one fault. Thanks to a fairly quick time they
gained a 10th place.

29.11.10 Just not for Cicero in
Brussels |
Last
weekend the five star CSI Brussels or Audi Masters took place
in the Expo. On Saturday Cicero Z van Paemel immediately
started in the 1m55 class with Dirk
Demeersman. That it was a difficult competition became
immediately clear due to the many faults that were made and
some retirements. Cicero jumped with a lot of power and
flexibility over the obstacles and nearly walked through the
double and the triple jump. Unfortunately the combination got
one fault in the end and could not participate in the jump-off.
Below you can find the to view the video of Brussels.

15.11.10 Barbarossa on top form in
Montpellier |
Not
only Don Camillo is in shape, but also Quechua's other Darco-son, Barbarossa van Paemel,
was in excellent form. With his French rider Aldrick Cheronnet
he was present at the three star CSI at Montpellier last
weekend. On the first day they started in the 1m50 class, that
was used as qualification for the Grand Prix. They stayed
double clear in a quick time and gained a 2nd place and a qualification.
On Sunday Barbarossa jumped a nice clear first round in the
Grand Prix and also in the jump-off he did not touch a fence
resulting in a great 5th place. The competition was won by Simon Delestre
and Oslo Du Chalet.

13.11.10 Cicero jumps to 4th place
in Oldenburg |
This
weekend Dirk Demeersman is present at the Internationale
Oldenburger Pferdetage with Cicero Z van Paemel and Bufero vh
Panishof. Today Dirk started with Cicero in the Preis der
Oldenburg Wirtschaft. In this 1m45/1m50 class the
participators were divided in groups, whereby the combination
with the best result was qualified for the jump-off. Cicero and
Dirk stayed clear in the quickest time of their group and
could start in the jump-off. In a jump-off with thirteen they
were the seventh to start. Cicero jumped very good and did
again not come close to the wood. Because of a fluent jump-off
Dirk and Cicero achieved a great 4th place.
|
11.11.10 Second victory for Don
Camillo |
In
the two stars CSI of Manerbio the Darco-son Don Camillo
van Paemel was obviously in great shape. On his first day he
was immediately victorious in the class for seven year old
horses, against the clock, with his rider Thiago Ribas
Da Costa. In the final they were faultless and also in the
jump-off they did not touch the wood. This time they gained a
great 2nd place, after Paul Estermann with Quinara 13.

24.10.10 Good weekend for Cicero in
Odense |
On
Thursday the three star competition of Odense started in
Denmark. Dirk Demeersman decided to start Cicero Z van Paemel in
the
Big Tour. The first day they began straight away with two
clear rounds in the 1m40 class. On Friday Cicero and Dirk
stayed faultless in the first round which was on a height of 1m45-1m50
this time. Due to a miscommunication in the jump-off they got
with 4 points and ended that way just out of the top ten, on
an 11th place.
Yesterday the Grand Prix was also left for Cicero. Once again
he jumped together with Dirk a great clear round. In the winning round
there were 13 combinations entered, from which 12 stayed clear
in the first round.
Cicero actually jumped even better in this track and recorded
the fourth best time. On the way they got one fault and
therefore they finished on a 9th place.

20.10.10 Have Patience stays supreme |
Have
Patience van het Westhof is only three years old, but she
already has an impressive list of achievements. The pretty
daughter of Cicero Z van Paemel and Tina van de Westgavers, a Palestro van de Begijnakker
descendant, gained earlier this year already a victory in Torhout
and on the provincial exterior testing of West-Vlaanderen Have
Patience, in property of Comm. V. Boncor 't Westhof, was once
more awarded the first place.
Her
father, Cicero Z, was present at his first indoor competition
last week at Saint-Lô. On friday Cicero and Dirk were

30.09.10 Cicero offspring is doing
it well |
In
Stuifzand, the Netherlands there was an 'Individueel Bruikbaarheid Onderzoek Paarden'
or in short IBOP on last weeks Thursday. A remarkable mare was
the Cicero Z van Paemel-daughter
Cicera. The daughter of the prok Tess (v. Quattro), half-sister
of the international jumpinghorse Pino, already gained the
'voorlopig keur' predicate after her performance at the CK of
Gelderland in the month August.
' "During the whole examination the mare was still a
little bit green, but she showed a lot of attidude for her
age. On the jump she jumps good into the air with her withers.
The use of her front legs was varying at first, but as the
trial progressed it was better", says Henk
Dirksen. The mare, who now is elite, achieved a a fine final
score of 78.5 points. Breeder, owner of Cicera is
H.K. Vruwink-Berenschot out of Winterswijk Miste. ' (author Ellen
Treep - Het Sportpaard)
On the website of the KWPN we can also read that the mare was
notable for her good reflex movements, in which she always
shows much view over the jump. (source kwpn.nl)
In
Belgium Kalisse de la Pierre was present at the Walloon foal
contest at Battice in September. Kalisse is a daughter of Cicero
Z out of the Latano mari Pepite de Ste Anne. The breeding
product of Veronique Debod got a nice 3rd place of the jury.
The yearling Joker de Fallogne (Cicero Z x Skippy II, in
property of Ignace Kessler) became first.
Last
weekend at Heist op den Berg the one year old mare
Jozefien gained also a 3rd place. This Cicero Z x Nagano daughter
is
in property of Jos Michiels - Yskout.
On
the Belgian Horses Auction in De Warre Kavalia van het
Heidehof was auctioned. The flexible, very good looking Cicero Z
daughter out of a Darco mother changed for an amount of €
7.000 euro of owner.

14.09.10 CSI Madrid |
After
Gijon Cicero Z van Paemel and Dirk Demeersman continued their
way to the sunny Madrid. On Friday Cicero jumped the 1m50
class of the five stars CSI. He jumped a great round, but got
a bad luck fault on the last obstacle. In the 1m40 of Saturday Dirk
and Cicero took it easy and jumped a smooth clear round. In the 1m55
high King's
Cup the wood was not touched, but after Cicero lost his shoe,
they decided to leave the ring on Sunday.
Esperanto
van Paemel jumped the competitions for six year old horses
this weekend at CSI Hulsterlo. Thursday Esperanto gained a 9th
place with his rider Nick Vrins. The next days he was again
double clear with an 11th place on Friday and an 8th place in

This
year Esperanto van Paemel signed for the paternity of the
beautiful filly, out of his first offspring, that became
National Champion yesterday. Katega II AC
disposes of a high-bred head with a lot charisma and large
movements. With even more verve she was running through the
ring and Katega II trotted away with the champion's ribbon.
Big brother Cicero Z van Paemel, who provided in 2007 also the
female National Champion, supplied this time for the bronze. In
combination with Contender the pretty Kien van Koekshof was

a descendant of Cicero Z
van Paemel out of a Darco mother, managed to jump the two
qualifications faultless and therefore qualify for the final
on Saturday. In that final only 15 of the 56 horses managed to
stay double clear. Among them Gigolo, who was declared 'Elite 4

23.07.10 A good start for Cicero in
Ascona! |
After
the constructive work of the previous weeks, Cicero Z van
Paemel seems to be back on his best level. On Friday Cicero
and Dirk started during the CSI Ascona in a 1m45 competition.
After a faultless round they were the fifth combination to
jump in the jump-off. In the jump-off we saw an eager and
quick Cicero who did not want to come close to the wood. Now
also he did it without making any fault, in a time that many
combinations could not reach.
At the end of the competition Cicero and Dirk had only Pius Schwizer
and
Leon Thijssen in front of them. With a 3rd place on 70
participants we are more than satisfied with the performance
of Cicero!

that he is in good shape by jumping two clear rounds and
seizing a 4th place.
In
Belgium Cicero's offspring did it also well. Last Sunday, at

Cicero present. The three year old Honey (Cicero Z x Pavarotti van de
Helle, in property of Vincent Coppens) gained a great 2nd place.
Also Iron Lady, a two year old Cicero Z out of a Darco mare, in

Cicero 5th at Austria |
Cicero
Z van Paemel (Carthago Z x Randel Z) is present at the three
star competition in Wiener Neustadt, Austria this weekend.
After Dirk was awarded a walkover, because of a fracture in
his hand, for CSIO Rome and CSI Bourg-en-Bresse, they are now,
only a few weeks after his operation, back on the
international scene. On the first day it surely went well. Cicero
entered in the 1m45 class against the clock. They had a clear
round in this 'warming-up' class and Dirk felt that 'Cice' was
back!
Cicero confirmed today that he is well by jumping in the 1m50
high Championat two clear round and achieving a great 5th
place on 90 combinations.

Yesterday
the National Championship for young horses took place in
Stal Hulsterlo at Kieldrecht. Our six year old BWP approved
stallion, Esperanto van Paemel (Non Stop x Randel Z),
participated with Nick Vrins. Right from the first round
Esperanto showed that he was in good condition and he jumped
with conviction faultless over the obstacles. In the second
round Esperanto was still full of energy and he showed his
great power. Because of his two clear rounds he entered in the
jump-off with 21 combinations. Esperanto jumped, as one of the
few, once more a clear round and he took possession of a
handsome third place.
Gigolo van Paemel (Cicero Z x Sandro) was also present.
Gigolo, who is only since New Year under the saddle, had an
off-day with two faults in the first round and one in the
second round.

Cycle Flémalle |
Ciska
van Paemel Z is a daughter of Cleopatra Z van Paemel (Campus
x Remondo) and Cicero Z van Paemel. This six year old mare is
since the end of 2009 at the stables of Dirk Demeersman. With
his stable rider Gilles Dunon she jumps the classical cycle
for young horses. Last weekend the competition took place in Flémalle.
That Ciska has an enormous power she proves every time. After
a bad luck fault in Moerzeke, she now jumped a convincing,
clear round, followed by a faultless jump-off.
The
four year old Gigolo van de Keihoeve (Cicero Z x Darco) was
also once again clear with his rider Candy Hernalsteen.

10.06.10
Chivas van Paemel Z |
Out of the
first year of Cicero's offspring were only a few foals born.
Nevertheless the most have found their way to a foreign country
after they were notable for their power that they inherited from
Cicero. Just like Chivas van Paemel Z. The six year old gelding
out of a daughter of the thoroughbred Riversmile jumps these
days under the saddle of the French rider Steve Rousseau. Last
week Chivas participated at the CSI Le Mans in the classes for
the young horses. In both tracks he did not touch the wood, but
he got some time faults. They achieved a great 5th and 8th
place.

Esperanto in Bonheiden |
This
weekend there was an international two stars competition in Bonheiden.
Our BWP approved stallion Esperanto van Paemel (Non Stop x
Randel Z) was present with his rider Nick Vrins. He entered in
the classes for the six year old horses on Friday and
Saturday. Esperanto jumped both Friday and Saturday a clear
round followed by a faultless jump-off. We
also got a mail from the family Mulder. Last year they bought
at the auction in Peer the now 4 year old Gigolo van de
Roshoeve. Gigolo is a son of Cicero Z out of a Quickfeuer
van Koekshof mare. With Hennie Coremans he jumped his first 1m10
class. It was a difficult course, but he played with the
obstacles. In addition the owners let us know that Gigolo has
disposal of a very good technique, coupled with enormous power
and scope.

the competition for young horses at Heusden-Zolder the four
year old Gucci of Roses (Cicero Z x Major de la Cour) was also
present. She had a double clear round under Sven
Grouwels.
Gigolo
van de Keihoeve was once again faultless in the cycle for
young horses at Gesves. The son of Cicero Z out of a Darco
mare therefore took with success part in the class for the
four year old horses with Cindy Hernalsteen.
Ulysses
van Paemel achieved a good 10th place in the final for six

Yesterday
the competition for young horses took place in Broechem. The

round in both the tracks with Nick Vrins.

van Paemel (Cicero Z x Sandro) performed for the first time in

That bit of luck... |
Cicero
Z van Paemel was this weekend together with Dirk Demeersman
travelled to Birmingham for The British Open Show Jumping

short turn an had one fault. Dirk did win this class with Tymoon.
The next day he jumped in an accumulator with one
joker, who was 1m70 high, against the clock. Cicero jumped
really great, but unfortunatelly he got one fault on the
penultimate jump. With a good time he still gained a 10th
place.
Cicero's
daughter, Ciska van Paemel Z, jumped in Geel with
Gilles Dunon, the stable rider of Dirk Demeersman, in a
regional course for six year old horses (1m20) on Friday.
That the course was high and difficult enough was, was
proven by the small number of clear rounds. Ciska jumped
great and she obtained a neat 5th place.
Esperanto
van Paemel on his turn went to the six year old horses class
at the CSI Lummen Yesterday he jumped a convincing clear

Before
Cicero next week to his last indoor competition in
Birmingham goes, he started together with Dirk Demeersman in
preparation for the outdoor season at the 'Groentenjumping' in Sint-Katelijne-Waver

it! Cicero knew to translate that in a smooth clear round
and a ticket for the jump off. Cicero appeared as 3rd at the
start and he could set a sharp time with some short and
efficient turns, that only Jeroen Appelen managed to
improve. Dirk earned not only a great 2nd place with Cicero,
but also a 3rd with Baron Cento. |

Outdoor season started |
This
weekend the cycle for youngsters started at Haras de
Wisbecq. Among the five year old horses Farinelli van
Paemel (Cicero Z x Darco) started his first 'real'
tournament. Farinelli showed his potential however he made two
beginnerfaults on the first and last obstacle.
Impressive was Ciska van Paemel Z (Cicero Z x Campus). She made
her debute with Dirk Demeersman as a six year old. Ciska
imagined herself in heaven or she wanted to get there. She
demonstrated her power that she obviously inherited from her
father. A little bit too enthusiast, she also made two
fault, but what we saw was definitely very promising!
Gigolo van de Keihoeve (Cicero x Darco) in property of Ronny
Bergiers jumped with Candy Hernalsteen a clear round with the
four year old horses.
Who also came the first time in an outdoor track, although at
home, was Gigolo van Paemel (Cicero Z
x Sandro). He also surprised us and he showed some great
jumps. The same for Esperanto van Paemel
(Nonstop x Randel Z) who clearly was in good shape. He was
relaxed and showed his power on the jump. Pictures

Unfortunately Cicero got an allergy on Friday, what made it impossible for the

Dirk & Cicero in Amsterdam |
Dirk
Demeersman went together with Cicero, Tymoon and Baron Cento
to the CSI 4* tournament of Amsterdam. On Sunday there was
the Grand Prix (1m60) on the program. Cicero and Dirk were
the 18th to start and from the first jump Cicero showed that
he was in top form. With great strenght and flexibility he
actually jumped even better than in Mechelen. Everything
seemed to indicate that they were going to have a clear
round, but one obstacle decided differently, resulting in 4
penaly points and no place in the barrage. Despite this
fault Cicero has jumped a great round. Click

Gigolo van Paemel at BWP Stallion Approval |
This
year we went to the BWP stallion approval with Gigolo van
Paemel. Gigolo is a son of Cicero Z van Paemel by our Sandro
mare, Sissi. This stallion impressed by his elegant
exterior, movements ánd power. That he also knew how to
charm the members of the jury, he proved by the fact that he
was given green light for the 3rd pahse and by his approval.

Rendez-Vous successful broodmare |
Rendez-Vous
van Paemel, our Randel Z daughter by Granie, has contributed
greatly to the success of 'Stoeterij van Paemel' at the last
CSI Mechelen.
Her 5 year old son, Esperanto van Paemel (by Nonstop), was
double clear in the stallion division and Che Guevara van
Paemel (by Carthago), the first descendant of Rendez-Vous'
daughter Betina van Paemel (by Darco), was also clear in the
divsion for 4 year old stallions and by drawing lots he was
send home with the cup.
The greatest success however was for het other son, Cicero Z
van Paemel (by Carthago), who participated in the CSI-W 5*
tournament. He achieved 2 results that we would never have
dreamed in advance after he had been out for a couple of
months. He was 7th in both the qualification of the World
Cup (1m50) as in the World Cup (1m60)! And we owe all of
this to one mare, Rendez-Vous. Click
